What is our Dye Process?

Sublimation is a slightly vintage, faded look! The process involves transferring a special ink that chemically binds with polyester fibers when heated. This means that you will not even feel the design on the shirt as it has essentially just permanently dyed the polyester strands instead of leaving a film on top. This eliminates the potential for cracking or peeling associated with other ink transfer/vinyl methods. There is no white ink capabilities with sublimation as the ink is fairly transparent, so keep in mind when choosing your shirt color, that any white in a design is essentially just a lack of ink, therefore, the background color of the tee is what will show through in any white areas of a design. Also, due to the transparent nature of the ink, images might be slightly lighter than pictured (for example, black will appear charcoal - I do try to illustrate this as best as possible in listing images). Ink transparency is the reason only light colored shirts can be used when sublimating colored designs. It is also part of the vintage/faded element, as well as the tees are not 150% polyester, therefore, the fade comes through when the ink fades out of the cotton portion of fibers. I intentionally chose blended fabric tees as they are the absolute softest and you won't ever want to take them off!

In the rare case that your color or size is out of stock, I will substitute your Bella Canvas with a comparable size, color and fabric quality tee.

Sizing
*See Size Chart in Photos. Unless otherwise described, My designs are printed on UNISEX sized shirts, so for women, they will have a more relaxed fit with a longer length. Ladies, we recommend ordering your normal size for a relaxed fit, but sizing down if you are between sizes or prefer a more fitted look. Please use the size chart in the photos. It is best to lay out your favorite tee and measure the length and width to compare. If your ordering a white tee.. like most white tees, you will likely need a cami underneath.

What is our Dye Process?
Our dye process is done by printing a special sublimation ink onto special sublimation transfer paper. When heat pressed with an industrial press, the ink actually becomes a part of the tee. The image transferred onto your tee won’t crack or peel over time like vinyl or screenprint would. The finish is also smooth, soft, and stylish because it literally becomes one with the tee. When doing our dye print, only the polyester yarns in a garment will hold the ink so keep in mind that sublimation inks are transparent, which means that it’s best to print on light colored tees so your image is transferred properly.
PLEASE NOTE – Your tee will have a vintage dyed look. Any white in the graphics of the Design Mockup will be transparent showing the shirt color.
